77. Disagree about the Rock Salt.
but I do recommend the 12 ga for home protection.

If you feel your life, or your family's life is under immediate threat, shoot to kill.
Do NOT point the weapon until you are absolutely sure,
and then do it.
No "point & threat", No verbal warnings, No warning shots, No rock salt, No bean bags.

For the 12 ga, I suggest buck shot.
For home defense, I keep two in my Mossberg 12 ga. magazine, but nothing in the chamber.

reason one:
I don't like to keep one chambered with the gun cocked.
That way there is absolutely no possibility of accidental discharge until the pump is racked and a round chambered.

reason 2:
If you keep round three in the chamber and rack the slide as a warning, you eject a good round, and you're now down to two anyway (unless you have the 5 round mag, which I don't)
reason 3:
If I can't do what has to be done with 2 rounds of 12 ga buckshot, them my life was NOT under immediate threat, or I'm dead.

That was the stupidest gun thread I've ever read.
The moderator deleted about 20% of them.
